Abosede Aloba, mother of late singer Mohbad, had a fiery confrontation with actor Yomi Fabiyi on Wednesday, as tensions flared over the circumstances surrounding her son’s death.
The heated exchange took place during a World Press Conference organized by Fabiyi at Radisson Blu in Ikeja, Lagos, where he demanded justice for the late artist.
Fabiyi accused Mohbad’s brother, Adura Aloba, of reaching out to him on Instagram, claiming to know the true cause of Mohbad’s death.
However, Mrs. Aloba vehemently denied this, accusing Fabiyi of attempting to wrongfully implicate her surviving son.
Pointing angrily at Fabiyi, she declared, “They killed Mohbad, and you want me to lose his brother unjustly. He knows nothing about his brother’s death, do not implicate my son.”
Visibly emotional, she added, “I am not happy that I lost Mohbad. If he were alive, I wouldn’t be sitting here with you. They took my precious gift away, and I won’t let them take Adura too.”
Fabiyi, in turn, insisted that his focus was not on who sent the message but on its contents, maintaining that Adura might have been behind it.
Mohbad tragically passed away on September 11, 2023, under controversial circumstances at the age of 26.
