Ede South Local Government has won the fifth edition of the Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial football competition.
The competition which was a tie between Boripe Local Government started with 1:1 while the teams went into penalty shootout after the first and second half.
The Agbale warriors later emerged victorious 4:3 on penalties.
Earlier in the day, Ejigbo local government team defeated Ilesa West Local Government in the losers final.
Speaking at the final, Governor Ademola Adeleke commended the the Sponsor of the competition, Rep Bamidele Salam for his consistency and dedication.
The Governor, who was represented by his Commissioner for Government Affairs and Protocols, Soji Ajaigbe, urged Osun residents to always have regular exercise.
“The Governor asked me to charge everyone to ensure they have regular exercise to keep their body and souls in good spirits. We must also make sure we examine our bodies regularly. Regular medical checkups are very important.”
Speaking after the competition, Rep Salam appreciated everyone that supports the competition from the beginning to the end.
He described the contest as another display of talents by Osun youths.
