Actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has shared a powerful story of resilience, revealing how a senior colleague once predicted he would fail within a year in the Yoruba movie industry.
Despite the discouraging words, Lateef confidently responded, “Give me two years, and you’ll see what I will become.”
In a candid interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Lateef also opened up about his personal life, including his heartfelt and unique proposal to his wife, Bimpe.
He called her one morning and simply asked if she would marry him and she said yes.
Lateef also spoke about the online trolling the couple has faced, including hurtful accusations against his wife, such as being called barren.
Despite the negativity, he praised her unwavering strength and support, especially during difficult times in his career.
Reflecting on his breakthrough film Lisabi, Lateef recalled feeling abandoned by those he expected support from, yet it was his wife who stood by him and gave him the strength to press on.
