Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring safety and security across the state.
Speaking on the first anniversary of the devastating explosion at Dejo Oyelese Close, Adeyi Avenue, in Ibadan, he confirmed that those responsible are in prison and facing terrorism charges.
Makinde expressed deep sympathy for the victims and emphasized the importance of public cooperation in strengthening security efforts.
“The tragedy could have been prevented with timely information from the community,” he stated, urging citizens to actively report suspicious activities.
He also highlighted ongoing government initiatives, including the rebuilding of the affected area and the establishment of a relief committee to support victims.
The governor reiterated that maintaining safety is a collective effort and assured that further steps are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
