The former senator representing River East Senatorial District between 1999 to 2007 John Azuta-Mbata has emerged as the new President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, which is a prominent Igbo socio-cultural organisation.
This happened after the election of new executives in Enugu on Friday, where Azuta-Mbata was declared as the new president and leader of the organization, after the successful tenure of Fidelis Chukwu.
Insight Media reported that Azuta-Mbata hails from Rivers State in South-south Nigeria, which marks a significant milestone in the organisation’s history.
The election process was conducted via voice voting, and alongside Azuta-Mbata, 15 other individuals were elected to various executive positions within the organisation.
Azuta-Mbata been a former senator assumes the position with a lot of experience.
