Renowned Nigerian pastor and gospel artist, Nathaniel Bassey, has been invited to minister at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

According to Punch Metro, the event, which is non-governmental and non-political, will be hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.

Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, fondly called “Pastor Nath,” will join other prominent ministers and speakers, including Dr. Alveda King, Pastor Mario Bramnick, Revivalist Rebecca Macchi, and Dr. Dominiquae Bierman.

The prayer breakfast is set to take place at the iconic Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom in Washington, D.C.

Pastor Nath confirmed his participation through his Instagram account, writing “Let’s raise a sound in America. And let the King of Glory come in. See you. 20th January, 2025.”

In his post, he provided additional insights about the event, describing it as a faith-based gathering designed to offer intercessory prayers and worship for the office of the president and the nation’s government.

He emphasized that the prayer breakfast is a tradition held every four years before a new administration’s inauguration, fostering a spiritual atmosphere for the country’s leadership transition.

This invitation marks another milestone in Pastor Nath’s remarkable global ministry. In 2024, the Mayor of Albany, New York, declared October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day” in recognition of his impact.

Reacting to the honor, Pastor Nath expressed his gratitude on social media, saying “Who am I, and what is my Father’s house, that the God of all the earth would place such honor on my life? That He would take this small boy from Akwa Ibom state to the ends of the earth. I give Him all the glory. May that day be a Jesus day—a day when men and women come to the knowledge of the glorious gospel of Christ.”

He also extended his appreciation to Albany’s Mayor Cathy M. Sheehan, the House of Favour Albany, and the broader Christian community in the city, praying for God’s continued blessings upon them.

Nathaniel Bassey, a celebrated gospel artist from Akwa Ibom, is renowned for his soul-stirring voice and masterful trumpet playing.

His discography includes his latest 18-track album, The River, released on December 12, 2024, alongside other fan favorites like Elohim, Names of God, and Hallelujah Live. His hit songs, such as Jesus Iye, Yahweh Sabaoth, and Baba We Thank You, continue to inspire millions globally.

Beyond his music, Nathaniel Bassey is the visionary behind the Hallelujah Challenge, a groundbreaking online praise and worship movement that has drawn thousands of participants worldwide.

This upcoming appearance at Donald Trump’s inaugural prayer breakfast underscores his influence as a leader in faith-based music and global ministry.
