A small plane crashed into the roof of a Southern California furniture factory, killing two people and injuring 18 others.

The factory, located in Fullerton, Orange County, United States of America had at least 200 workers inside at the time, Sky News reports.

The accident occurred less than two minutes after the single-engine Van’s RV-10 aircraft took off from Fullerton Municipal Airport.

A spokesperson for Fullerton police said, “It is not yet known if the people who were killed were in the plane or on the ground.”

Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage captured the plane tilted on its side as it hit the building, resulting in an explosion and a thick black plume of smoke.

Among the injured, 10 were hospitalised, while eight received treatment at the scene and were released.

Last November, another four-seat plane crashed near the same airport during an emergency landing, leaving both occupants with minor injuries.

It would be recalled that 179 people were killed in December in a devastating plane crash that occurred at Muan International Airport in South Korea.

Out of the 181 people on board the aircraft, only two crew members survived.
