Controversial rapper Speed Darlington has reportedly survived an assassination attempt just days after being released from Kuje prison.
In a video posted on his Instagram, the artist alleges that unidentified gunmen fired on his car, leaving it covered in bullet holes.
Darlington claims the attack occurred early Monday morning as he was leaving a nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos. The viral footage shows significant damage to the rear of the vehicle, with visible bullet marks.
The rapper accuses an unnamed person of being behind the attack, though he did not offer additional details. “Long face sent killers my way and I haven’t even posted anything. Broooooo, is this necessary? You try to take my life. Really?” he wrote in the video’s caption.
The allegations have stirred speculation online, with many linking the incident to his recent controversies and publicized detention.
Speed Darlington was released from Kuje prison less than a week ago, where he had been held on undisclosed charges.
His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has suggested that Afrofusion star Burna Boy played a role in his prolonged detention.
