Nigerian artist Oludipe David, better known as Spyro, has disclosed that he charges ₦20 million per performance in Nigeria.
In a viral interview with Echo Room, the Who’s Your Guy hitmaker shed light on a past conflict with music manager Ubi Franklin, which stemmed from a payment disagreement during a performance at Iyanya’s birthday celebration.
Spyro shared that Ubi had informed him that Davido wanted him to perform for $5,000, but he rejected the offer, stating, “I don’t charge $5,000.
The least I charge in Nigerian currency is ₦20 million.” Despite the initial dispute, Spyro went ahead with the performance due to the presence of key dignitaries, but later confronted Ubi to settle the issue.
