US President Donald Trump has announced the dismissal of four senior government officials appointed by his predecessor, Joe Biden, signaling the beginning of his administration’s reshaping of federal leadership.
In his first post on Truth Social since taking office as the 47th President, Trump revealed that his Presidential Personnel Office is actively working to remove over a thousand appointees from the previous administration who do not align with his vision.
“Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Presidential Personnel Office is identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again,” Trump stated.
The dismissed officials named in the post include: Jose Andres from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition; Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council; Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars; and Keisha Lance Bottoms from the President’s Export Council.
Trump emphasized that this post serves as their “Official Notice of Dismissal,” using his signature phrase from The Apprentice: “YOU’RE FIRED!”
A Sweeping Day-One Agenda
Trump’s first day in office has been marked by a series of executive actions aimed at undoing Biden-era policies. Among these actions is a freeze on new regulations until the Trump administration has fully assumed control.
Additionally, he signed an order mandating that all federal employees return to full-time, in-office work. Trump also suspended 78 executive orders issued by the Biden administration and reaffirmed his commitment to reducing civil service roles and improving government efficiency.
In his 29-minute inaugural address, Trump painted a vision for a “Golden Age” of America, criticizing the Biden administration as “radical and corrupt” and claiming it was ill-equipped to manage domestic crises, such as the wildfires in Los Angeles.
With many government agencies now preparing for substantial changes, the Trump administration appears set to pursue additional campaign promises, including potential department closures.
Trump’s decisive actions on his first day signal a transformative and potentially controversial term, as his administration begins implementing significant changes across federal government operations.
