Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reaffirmed his commitment, alongside other members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to uphold the party’s integrity and avoid bringing it into disrepute.

The governor made this statement during the PDP North-East Zonal Caucus meeting held on Thursday in Bauchi.

He explained that party leaders from the region had engaged with the reconciliation committee established by the National Working Committee (NWC), and that the zone had been recognized as the least divided with minimal conflict.

Mohammed emphasized that the region remains united and focused, with party members committed to ensuring the party’s dignity is preserved.

He added, “We are introducing projects and initiatives that directly address the needs and aspirations of our people. We remain loyal to the zone and to the various chapters, including those without a governor, and we will continue to do so.”

Chairman of the reconciliation committee, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, affirmed the party’s readiness to confront its challenges and reposition itself effectively to reclaim power in the 2027 general elections.

“The main goal of the committee is to engage with aggrieved members and resolve issues to build a stronger, more united political force,” he stated.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa described the reconciliation effort as timely, given the ongoing challenges within the party.

He stressed that the party’s return to leadership would depend on collective effort and urged dissatisfied members to come together for reconciliation and progress.
