Ekaette Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has dismissed the sexual harassment allegations made against her husband by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
In an interview with Arise Television, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, accused the Senate President of sexual harassment. She also claimed Akpabio had blocked her motions in the Senate after she rejected his advances.
However, Mrs. Akpabio refuted the claims, describing them as unfounded. Speaking to reporters at her residence in Abuja, she stated that Akpoti-Uduaghan was at her family’s home on the date in question 8th December 2023 and emphasized the longstanding cordial relationship between the two families.
Mrs. Akpabio expressed confidence in her husband’s integrity, citing his record of supporting women’s inclusion in government prior to becoming Senate President. She urged women to refrain from spreading false allegations and vowed to seek legal action.
The Senate President, through his media consultant Kenny Okolugbo, also denied the harassment claims made by Akpoti-Uduaghan.
