Nollywood actress Chika Ike has addressed rumors surrounding the paternity of her unborn child. On Tuesday, she took to Instagram to clarify the situation, emphasizing that the speculation on social media was far from the truth.
Ike felt compelled to speak out, stating that the rumors about Senator Ned Nwoko being the father of her baby were nothing more than baseless guesses. She made it clear that she has no interest in becoming the seventh wife of the Delta lawmaker, asserting that polygamy is not part of her plans.
She wrote, “There have been all sorts of lies about me in the media for years, but I’ve always ignored them as mere rumors. However, this is different because it concerns my child. You all know nothing about my personal life unless I choose to share it. Yes, I’m that private! Ned is not the father of my child, and no matter what other names you come up with in your guessing games, I’ve already made it clear — I’m not interested in being anyone’s seventh wife. Polygamy is not for me.”
Ike went on to express her frustration with the public’s assumptions, stating, “I’ve been pregnant for months, and no one had a clue until I announced it. Yet, you all think you know who the father is? It’s laughable and clueless!”
She also urged those spreading false stories to keep speculating while she enjoys the joy of her pregnancy, which is all that matters to her at the moment.
Meanwhile, Senator Nwoko has also denied the claims that he is planning to marry Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant with his child.
The rumors, which gained traction after his wife, Regina Daniels, deactivated her Instagram account, were described as “baseless” in a statement released by Nwoko’s Director of Communications. The statement, shared on Nwoko’s Instagram page alongside pictures of him and Regina, urged the public to disregard the false reports.
The statement read: “We categorically state that the rumors alleging Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko plans to marry Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him are entirely baseless and a result of malicious speculation.”
