Nigerian media personality Do2dtun has come to the defense of comedian AY and actress May Edochie after an AI-generated video began circulating, allegedly showing them in a compromising situation.
The video, which quickly went viral, has sparked outrage and debate on social media, with many expressing concerns over the misuse of AI technology.
In response, AY condemned the video’s creation and distribution, urging for responsible use of technology and caution against the spread of misleading content.
On Tuesday, Do2dtun shared his thoughts on his X page, encouraging both AY and May Edochie to address the situation. He emphasized that, as single individuals, they have every right to pursue their own happiness.
He also praised AY for his professionalism and clarified that the video was AI-generated and should not be taken as real.
Do2dtun wrote, “Open note to AY: You’re an incredible creative with years of experience and grace. It’s easy to be judged, and none of us are perfect, right? But here’s the truth: Yes, the video is AI, and it shouldn’t be used for this purpose. But honestly, you’ve done nothing wrong.
“There’s a need to clear things up to prevent any misuse, but remember—there’s so much more to you than these scandals. You’re ‘AY’ the Legend. Always remind them of that.
“This might be tough, especially with how things are being perceived, but know this: You’ve done nothing wrong. Both you and May have the right to move on and pursue happiness. It’s 2025—everyone deserves that.
“As much as this situation isn’t what it appears, you’ve done no wrong. You’re an amazing creative, and that legacy will remain. Iree o!”
