Akwa Ibom state Governor, Umo Eno has forwarded 27 names to the State House of Assembly for commissioners and special advisers after thirty three days of dissolving his foundation cabinet
This was contained in a letter dated February 10, 2025, and addressed to the Speaker, Elder Udeme Otong, Governor Eno stated:
“In line with Section 192 (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), I forward the listed nominees for appointment as Commissioners and Special Advisers for confirmation by the State House of Assembly.”
The list included nine immediate past commissioners which are:
Prof. Eno Ibanga (Works and Fire Service)
Ini Ememobong (Information and Strategy)
Emem Bob (Economic Development)
Mrs. Offiong Offor (Agriculture)
Frank Archibong (Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs)
Linus Nkan (Finance)
Capt. Iniobong Ekong (Rtd) (Lands)
Uko Essien Udom, SAN (Justice)
Gen. Koko Essien (Rtd) (Internal Security and Waterways)
Gen. Essien was the only commissioner directly appointed by Governor Eno before the cabinet dissolution.
