Joseph Aloba, the father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, has denied claims that he dismissed the nurse who reportedly treated his son before his death.
His response comes after allegations made by Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, during an interview with media personality Chudity on February 19. Wunmi had claimed that when she informed Aloba about the nurse’s involvement in the events leading up to Mohbad’s death, he dismissed the matter.
During a TikTok live session on Tuesday, Aloba firmly stated that he had never met the nurse in question, either in person or online, contradicting Wunmi’s account of events.
“I’ve never seen the nurse. If I had, it would have been on the internet. We haven’t met in person. The nurse and I never had any conversation,” Aloba explained. “Since I started talking about what happened to Mohbad that night, I never mentioned the nurse. I never saw any nurse there, and no one introduced her to me,” he added.
In addition to addressing the nurse-related controversy, Aloba also discussed matters concerning his late son’s properties. Aloba expressed confusion over why Mohbad’s properties were registered in his grandson Liam’s name, noting that, as a father, he had never bought anything in his son’s name.
“I don’t know how they managed to do that. When Mohbad returned from his tour, he told me he had bought two plots of land at Elepe, but in Liam’s name. I don’t know why that happened,” Aloba said.
He continued, “As a father, I’ve never bought anything in Mohbad’s name, but they bought those two plots in Liam’s name. All the land documents were with Wunmi’s mother, except for one at Gberigbe. She gave it to me when Mohbad was alive. He told me he wanted to build a church for me as a pastor. That’s the only document I have access to.”
Aloba also mentioned that Mohbad had told him he had purchased land through Wunmi’s mother, including two acres at Agbowa and a plot at Elepe, which was transferred to Gberigbe.
