Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian music star Mohbad, has come forward with alarming claims about threats to her life and that of her one-year-old son, Liam.
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, she shared that she receives near-constant death threats through direct messages.
Aloba also accused Naira Marley—her late husband’s former employer—and his associates of physically attacking her. She expressed deep concern over her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, attempting to gain control of Mohbad’s assets.
“We no longer feel safe. I get death threats almost every day in my DMs. It’s gotten to the point where I have to speak out or risk dying in silence,” she said.
She further revealed, “Naira Marley and his associates attacked me. My father-in-law is trying to seize Mohbad’s properties and will stop at nothing to ruin my life. The same man who officiated our wedding now calls our son a bastard. He says Liam has bow legs, that he looks older than him, and even claimed that my late husband once threatened to throw our baby into the Third Mainland Bridge.”
Mohbad tragically passed away under mysterious circumstances in September 2023, shortly after leaving Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label. His controversial death has ignited widespread speculation, with many blaming Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, who was seen in a viral video assaulting the late artist shortly before his passing.
