Nigerian lawyer and politician, Prince Chinedu Munir Nwoko, widely known as Ned Nwoko, has dismissed reports suggesting that he plans to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife.
The rumors gained traction after Nwoko’s wife, Regina Daniels, deactivated her Instagram account, sparking speculation that Nwoko had welcomed a child with Ike.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Monday, Nwoko refuted the claims, calling them baseless and the result of malicious gossip.
He also urged journalists to verify information before publishing and warned against the spread of false news.
Nwoko’s official statement read:
“OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
Our attention has been drawn to the recent unfounded rumors alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is expecting his child. We categorically state that these claims are completely baseless and the result of malicious speculation.
Additionally, reports suggesting that he made comments about Tuface and polygamy are entirely false. As a public figure with a wife who is also an actress, it is not uncommon for attention-seeking bloggers to fabricate such stories.
However, Senator Nwoko is currently engaged in a national assignment, fully committed to fulfilling his political responsibilities, and has no time for such distractions.
This office remains open for journalists seeking to verify information, and we remind media professionals of the consequences of spreading fake news. We urge the public to disregard these rumors and rely solely on official statements from this office.”
