Rose Idibia, the mother of Nigerian music icon 2Baba (Innocent Idibia), has made an emotional appeal to fellow Nigerian mothers, asking for their help in persuading Hon. Natasha Osawuru, an Edo State lawmaker, to release her son from what she believes is a troubling situation.
In a viral video released Thursday evening, Mrs. Idibia expressed serious concern for 2Baba’s well-being, claiming that the ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, has deeply affected his mental state.
“Good evening, Nigerians. I am Mrs. Rose Idibia, 2Baba’s mother. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawuru from Edo State. I am asking all Nigerian mothers to join me in pleading with her to let my son go,” she said, visibly distressed.
“My son is going through a divorce, and I know him well—he is not himself right now. The person I see in these videos is not my son,” she added.
“Please, Natasha, the beads you placed on his wrist and neck—take them off and let him go,” she pleaded.
Recall that 2Baba proposed to Natasha Osawuru in a video that went viral on Thursday. Natasha is the granddaughter of Edo billionaire businessman, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion.
The video showed the singer and the lawmaker dancing closely with friends surrounding them. Later, 2Baba presented her with a ring and embraced her.
This event occurred just a day after the musician publicly confirmed his romantic involvement with Osawaru, sparking a wave of reactions on social media.
This revelation came shortly after 2Baba’s separation from Annie Macaulay-Idibia, with the singer revealing his intent to take his relationship with Osawaru to the next level.
Rumors had been swirling about their relationship after 2Baba was seen at the Edo State Assembly and later with Natasha at a club in Lagos.
In response to the gossip, the African Queen hitmaker addressed the situation in an Instagram video on Tuesday:
“I’ve seen so many things—so many people spreading false narratives and malicious rumors after I posted what I posted. Yes, I posted it,” he said.
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged through the mud and called all sorts of names. She’s been labeled a homewrecker. But the truth is, she is a brilliant, young, and amazing woman. She had nothing to do with what happened between me and Annie. Yes, I love her. She’s amazing, and I want to marry her.”
