Award-winning Nigerian artist Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, has expressed gratitude to veteran musician Seyi Sodimu after her second Grammy win.

According to PUNCH Online, Tems claimed the Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday with her song “Love Me Jeje,” a remake of Sodimu’s iconic 1997 hit of the same title.

In a post shared on X.com on Monday, Tems thanked Sodimu for his support in clearing the sample and for backing the resurgence of the song.

She wrote, “I just want to thank the wonderful #seyimusic for his role in the support and clearing of his OG song Love Me Jeje. It’s brought the original song back to life for me, and I’m glad that it’s getting its flowers today. A timeless classic. I appreciate you so much. Thank you for your love and support.”

Released in 1997, “Love Me Jeje” remains one of Nigeria’s most beloved love songs, and Tems’ version has reignited interest in the classic.
