Cristiano Ronaldo was celebrated in a special way for his 40th birthday in New York City, as fans gathered in Times Square to perform his legendary “Siu” celebration.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner marked the milestone on February 5, just days after scoring his 922nd and 923rd career goals during Al-Nassr’s 4-0 win over Al Wasl.
Ronaldo’s iconic celebration, first showcased in 2013 during his time at Real Madrid, continues to be beloved by fans worldwide.
“I started saying ‘si,’ which is like ‘yes,’ when I was at Real Madrid,” Ronaldo shared with FourFourTwo. “I just scored, and it came out naturally.”
The celebration came just after Ronaldo’s headline-making interview with El Chiringuito, where he addressed misconceptions about the Saudi Pro League in comparison to MLS.
“People talk too much without knowing,” he said, adding, “Because it’s Saudi Arabia, people tend to look down on it… but it deserves the credit it gets.”
Meanwhile, MLS is gearing up for a huge 2025 season, with stars like Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suárez nearing the end of their contracts with Inter Miami.
