The Osun State Independent Electoral commission has reinstated its readiness for the 2025 Local Government Election.
The Chairman of the commission, Barr Hassim Abioye stated this at the press briefing on Monday.
“We are ready for the upcoming local government elections on February 22nd, 2025, and we are unveiling the electoral materials”, he stated.
Here are some of the specimen of the electoral materials that will be used for the local government elections, which includes, double-edge cubicle, Ballot Box and Ballot Papers.
However, the Chairman stated that there have been no official withdrawals or reports from any political parties from the forthcoming elections.
“As of today, we have not had withdrawal from any political parties from the forthcoming elections, all parties are still involved in the electoral process”, he explained.
The Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Pastor Victor Akande commended the chairman while reinstating its support to the commission.
He also warned the commission not to allow any external influence to jeopardize the credibility of the election.
“We are going for the election on February 22, 2025 come what may. What matter most is peace and progress.
“We are giving our maximum support to OSSIEC. 14 political parties were physically represented while APP and PDP are not physically present due to their ongoing court case”, he explained.
The Local Government election is slated to hold on the 22nd of February, 2025.
