The South- East organ of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has re-elected Chief Ali Odefa as its National Vice Chairman during its zonal congress held at Okpara Square, Enugu State, on Wednesday.

Chairman of the Electoral Panel, Hon. Funkeke Mye Solomon, declared that all zonal officers emerged unopposed, describing the congress as free, fair, and credible.
Other zonal officers elected include:
Secretary – Ugwu James Okechukwu
Treasurer – Uchebo Regina
Organising Secretary – Ugwu Cornelius
Publicity Secretary – Igwe Augustine
Financial Secretary – Kenneth Okoro
Legal Adviser – Dominic Nwankwo
Auditor – Ezeanya Augustine
Women Leader – Arodiogbu Ifeanyinwa

Odefa while given his acceptance speech thanked Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for his efforts in uniting party members in the region. He also expressed gratitude to the delegates for their confidence in the new executive committee.
“It is our promise and pledge that we will not let you down. We have a fresh four-year mandate, and within this period, we will right the wrongs of the past.”
Odefa also appealed to aggrieved party members to put aside their differences and work together to strengthen the PDP in the South-East.
“Let us come together to build a party we can all be proud of. We appeal to other stakeholders from the zone to support the efforts and sacrifices of the party’s leaders.”
