A former lawmaker, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, who represented Obokun State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly from 2015 to 2019, has firmly stated that no political opposition or coalition can prevent President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
His statement comes in response to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s call for opposition parties to unite and end Tinubu’s leadership.
Oyintiloye, a key figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, emphasized that the recent defections of APC members to other political parties do not threaten Tinubu’s chances. He pointed out that defections are a common political occurrence and dismissed any notion that these exits would hinder Tinubu’s re-election prospects.
In a statement released in Osogbo, Oyintiloye asserted, “No political gang-up can stop President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. Those conspiring against him should take the time to understand the kind of leader he is. He has the winning strategy, and he is building a network of loyal, goodwill-driven individuals across the nation.”
He went on to highlight Tinubu’s widespread political influence and strong relationships across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones as key factors that would continue to benefit his re-election campaign.
Additionally, Oyintiloye pointed out the President’s substantial political track record, achievements, and deep connections, which contributed to his victory in the 2023 election and will continue to propel him forward in 2027.
The APC chieftain also advised the President to increase public engagement to showcase his administration’s accomplishments and future goals. This, he believes, would help the public better understand and assess the government’s policies and plans.
In closing, Oyintiloye expressed confidence that Tinubu’s determination and political acumen would ensure his success, and that his opponents would eventually realize the mistakes they made by not supporting him.
