Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has expressed his determination to keep club captain and Real Madrid target, Bruno Fernandez at Old Trafford but the club management could go against his wishes

According to the Daily Star, the Spanish giants have been keeping eye on Fernandez since the beginning of the season and target view him as a potential replacement for ageing mieldfieder, Luka Modric.

Amorim’s wishes is to keep the Portugal international at Old Trafford, but the club management may be forced to cash out on the captain to fix their financial problem.

Fernandes has been fantastic for the club since the beginning of the season, with a return of 16 goals and 16 assists in all competitions while none of his team-mates has reached double figures for either goals or assists.

However it is possible that Fernandez would fancy a move to Spain capital, who always compete for La Liga and the Champions League every season.

Amorim while speaking after United sealed their place in the Europa League quarter-finals earlier this month where Fernandez score hatrick, he said, “When we need it, he’s always there. In the set-pieces, he can change position, he can bring the ball forward, he can score goals, he can make transitions.”

United minority owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has recently opened up on the club’s financial challenges and the needs to sale Fernandes, which could make more signings possible this summer.

Amorim looks set to be backed by the club management to turn the fortunes around, despite them suffering their worst-ever Premier League season on the EPL table.
