Azeez Oshoala, the brother of Asisat Oshoala, six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year and Super Falcons striker, has officially declared his intention to run for the chairmanship of Ikorodu Local Government under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming Lagos State local government elections.

In a statement on Saturday, Oshoala, a media entrepreneur, emphasized that youths are increasingly favored in leadership roles due to their energy, resourcefulness, and dynamism.

Speaking at his campaign office in Ikorodu, he stated, “I have consulted extensively with my leaders and stakeholders about the need to support my candidacy for Ikorodu’s chairmanship.”

He added, “This endeavor is not about personal power or financial gain but about unlocking the potential for transformation and greatness in our local government. I am here to serve my community.”

Oshoala, who holds two master’s degrees from international institutions and is a member of several professional organizations, promised to introduce transformative programs aimed at improving the lives of all Ikorodu residents.
