Two individuals have been confirmed dead following a fire that broke out early Tuesday at the Orita Challenge branch of GABSTAB Petrol Station in Ibadan.

 

According to a statement from Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, the victims, a petrol tanker driver and his motor boy, lost their lives in the blaze.

 

Akinyinka explained that the fire service was alerted to the incident at 5:15 a.m., and promptly dispatched personnel to the scene.

 

“We received information about the fire at GABSTAB Mega Petrol Station, Orita Challenge, at 5:15 a.m., and immediately deployed our team,” he said. “Unfortunately, both the driver and motor boy were burnt to death.”

 

He also confirmed that the fire had been contained, and further details about the incident would be provided later.
