The Oyo State House of Assembly has suspended the Chairman of Saki East Local Government Area, Emmanuel Adedokun, following allegations of serious misconduct.
The suspension takes immediate effect, as announced during Tuesday’s plenary session, after 11 members of the Peoples Democratic Party from Saki East submitted a petition accusing Adedokun of repeatedly disregarding directives from Governor Seyi Makinde.
In response, the Assembly has appointed Vice Chairman Razaq Adeyemi as the Acting Chairman, while the Council Secretary will serve as Acting Vice Chairman.
The suspension will remain in place until further notice, pending the investigation by the Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters
