Former Senate President and Senator representing Yobe North, Ahmad Lawan, has firmly stated that he has no intentions of leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Senator Lawan emphasized that he remains fully committed to the APC, a party he has been associated with since its inception, and continues to be a loyal and active member.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Media Adviser, Ezrel Tabiowo, Lawan categorically denied the false reports and rumors suggesting that he was planning to switch parties.

The statement clarified, “These reports are entirely misleading and without foundation. Senator Ahmad Lawan is a committed and loyal member of the APC, a party with which he has proudly aligned himself since its formation, and he will continue to contribute to its success.”

The statement went on to highlight Lawan’s unbroken political career, noting that he has never defected from any party. His journey began in 1999 as a member of the House of Representatives, and he later transitioned to the Senate in 2007, first under the All People’s Party (APP), which eventually merged into the APC in 2013.

Lawan affirmed his belief in the APC’s vision and its role in shaping Nigeria’s future. He reiterated his commitment to working alongside party leaders and members to strengthen the party and advance its objectives for national progress.

Additionally, Lawan expressed his unwavering support for Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, commending his leadership and ongoing efforts to improve governance in the state.

Lawan also reaffirmed his full support for the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, especially its reforms aimed at addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
