The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has dismissed the attempts to recall her from the Senate, expressing that she is not concerned by the move.

Speaking on her behalf, her media aide, Israel Arogbonlo, communicated in an exclusive phone conversation with The PUNCH on Wednesday, stating that the recall efforts were unlikely to succeed.

Reports indicate that certain individuals in Natasha’s constituency have initiated a recall process against her, with some residents in Okehi Local Government Area participating in the registration.

Nura Ibrahim, a constituent, stated that the recall effort is driven by dissatisfaction over Akpoti-Uduaghan’s performance, particularly in areas such as poverty, infrastructure, and education.

However, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s aide refuted the recall attempt, calling it a “sponsored” action and insisting that it will not succeed. He further emphasized that the senator’s team remains unpressured by the move.

“We are not under any form of pressure, and we will never be,” the aide said, noting that just two days prior, there was a protest from actual constituents who expressed that no recall was planned.
