Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decision to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State.
The past few months have seen political turmoil in Rivers, with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and 27 elected members of the State House of Assembly embroiled in an ongoing dispute.
In response to the crisis, President Tinubu announced the suspension of Governor Fubara, Deputy Governor Odu, and all members of the State House of Assembly for an initial period of six months.
Tinubu also appointed Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas (Rtd) as the Administrator to manage the state’s affairs in the interest of its citizens.
Reacting to the declaration, Reno Omokri said, “At last, Nigeria has a Commander-in-Chief rather than a Commander-at-Sleep! A President who is not just in power, but knows what to do with power.”
