Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State following months of political turmoil.

In a statement posted on his verified Facebook account, Fani-Kayode remarked, “When children refuse to stop fighting, the father must step in,” commending Tinubu’s decisive action to restore order in the state.

He continued, “The state of emergency declaration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Rivers State is a courageous and praiseworthy step that will bring much-needed stability. I believe this move will help bring all the key players in the conflict back to their senses. When children fight endlessly, the father must intervene to prevent the house from burning down.”

Just moments ago, Tinubu suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all 27 members of the State House of Assembly for an initial six-month period.

In his statement, Tinubu declared, “With this action, the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Mrs. Ngozi Odu, and all elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly are hereby suspended for an initial period of six months.”
