Dara, the estranged wife of comedian and skit maker Kehinde Ganiyu, known as Ijoba Lande, has opened up about the reasons behind the end of their marriage.

In a recent interview with actress Biola Adebayo, Dara revealed that her ex-husband’s gambling addiction and his tendency to assault her were the main factors that led to their separation.

She strongly denied the claim made by Ijoba Lande in a viral interview, where he accused her of having relations with 21 men. Dara challenged him to provide proof, specifically naming the men and releasing the alleged video.

According to Dara, the main reason for leaving the marriage was Ijoba Lande’s unshakable support for his manager, Marygold, who was also her friend.

She stated that during arguments, her ex-husband would always side with Marygold, even when she was in the wrong.

Dara also spoke about her initial reluctance to date Ijoba Lande, revealing that even though she had another partner, it was Marygold who convinced her to give Lande a chance after he showed interest at a party.

She explained that Lande’s addiction to online betting drained him financially, to the point where he sold his car to place more bets. His addiction left him neglectful of her, often glued to his phone and uninterested in their relationship.

She further detailed the struggles she faced while living with him, including having to borrow food on credit and enduring physical abuse due to his anger issues.

Dara explained that things took a turn when Lande chose to side with Marygold, who had failed to contribute to a monthly fund.

Despite their tensions, Dara left his home without taking any belongings, leaving behind her clothes and personal items.

Regarding a controversial “Truth or Dare” game at the home of popular actor Babatunde Tayo, known as Baba Tee, Dara explained that Marygold was the one who instigated the game.

She admitted to being drunk and regretted her actions, claiming that she had only sat on Baba Tee’s lap, not engaging in any sexual activity, as was falsely implied.

Ijoba Lande had earlier claimed that his wife left him after discovering her alleged infidelity, naming at least 21 men from the entertainment industry.

Among those mentioned was Baba Tee, though Baba Tee denied any affair with Dara, stating that he only met her once through Marygold and did not know her true identity until later.

In a message posted on Facebook, Baba Tee expressed regret and apologized to Lande, acknowledging his actions and saying, “I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother Lande. Deep how Dara became Lande’s wife without my knowledge… Hmmm. I fear women.”
