Annie Macaulay, the estranged wife of Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, publicly confirmed their divorce during the 17th Headies Awards on Sunday night.
While co-presenting the award for Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year with Farooq Oreagba, also known as the “King of Steeze” from the 2024 Ojude Oba festival, Annie made a subtle but clear reference to her current marital status.
As she introduced herself on stage, she corrected her introduction, signaling her return to her maiden name.
“Annie Idi… Oh, sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies!” she joked, prompting cheers from the crowd.
This remark follows a social media post from Annie in March, where she signed off with her full name Annie Uwana Macaulay intentionally leaving out “Idibia.”
The couple, who share two children, officially separated in January 2025, a fact that 2Baba publicly confirmed.
Since then, the singer has moved on with his new fiancée, Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, even proposing to her and introducing her to his family in Benue State, fueling rumors of an impending wedding.
