Cesc Fàbregas is emerging as a leading candidate to replace Claudio Ranieri at Roma, following his impressive managerial stint with Como.
With Ranieri set to retire at the end of the season, Roma are actively searching for his successor. The 73-year-old returned for a third spell with the Giallorossi despite announcing his retirement after keeping Cagliari in Serie A last year. Under his guidance, Roma have climbed to sixth place in the league and are in the race for a Champions League spot.
According to Sky Sports Italy, Fàbregas has caught Roma’s attention after stabilizing Como in their first season back in Serie A. The former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea midfielder has quickly earned plaudits for his tactical acumen and leadership, prompting Roma to make initial contact.
Interest in the 37-year-old isn’t limited to Roma. AC Milan, Juventus, and RB Leipzig are also monitoring his progress, though Como remain determined to keep hold of their head coach despite the growing speculation.
Fàbregas is one of several names Roma are considering. Other reported candidates include Stefano Pioli, currently at Al-Nassr, Ajax boss Francesco Farioli, and Genoa manager Patrick Vieira.
