Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Chukwuka Ekweani, widely known as CKay, has officially ended his partnership with Warner Music South Africa. The label confirmed the separation in a statement shared on Friday.
CKay, who rose to international fame with chart-topping tracks like Love Nwantiti and Emiliana, described the decision as both “mutual and strategic.”
“Every journey has a beginning and an end,” he stated. “My time with Warner Music South Africa was meaningful, and I’m thankful for the experience. But now, I’m ready for new energy and new horizons.”
An industry insider close to the artist hinted at upcoming news: “Fans can expect a fresh wave of music and a new creative direction in the coming weeks.”
With more than two billion global streams, CKay continues to be one of Africa’s leading musical exports, known for his unique take on Afrobeats.
