President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to former Abia State Governor and current Senator representing Abia North, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, on the occasion of his 65th birthday.
In a statement released on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu reflected on his enduring relationship with Senator Kalu, which dates back to their days as members of the “Class of ’99” – the group of governors elected during Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999.
The President lauded Senator Kalu’s patriotism, resilience, and contributions to national development, noting that while their political paths have at times diverged, mutual respect and a shared vision for Nigeria’s progress have always defined their relationship.
“Senator Kalu, my friend, is a patriot whose life embodies resilience, generosity, and the transformative power of visionary leadership,” Tinubu said. “On this milestone, I celebrate his contributions to our nation’s economic and political tapestry.”
He also commended Kalu’s achievements in the private sector, particularly through the growth of Slok Holding and his ventures in banking and media, which have created significant employment opportunities and strengthened Nigeria’s economic landscape.
President Tinubu concluded his tribute by praying for continued divine blessings upon Senator Kalu, wishing him renewed strength, wisdom, and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria and humanity.
