Afrobeats icon Davido has reaffirmed his unwavering support for fellow Nigerian artist Tiwa Savage, vowing to protect her from harm despite their past disagreements.
This statement comes a year after rumors surfaced that Savage had filed a petition against Davido, accusing him of making life-threatening threats.
The tension between the two musicians began in January 2024 when Tiwa Savage shared a photo online with Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first baby mama, sparking widespread controversy.
However, during a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Davido aimed to clarify the situation, emphasizing that their conflict was rooted in personal matters.
“We used to live together. The issue with Tiwa was personal because she was a good friend to Sophia,” Davido explained.
He went on to express his deep respect and affection for Tiwa, describing her as a game-changer for women in music.
“Tiwa Savage is my sister for life. We are family, and I love her and her child. It was just a brother-sister kind of fight. She did reach out, and I will never let anything happen to her.”
Davido’s statement highlights his enduring bond with Tiwa Savage, despite past misunderstandings.
