Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a surprise summer move for Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, who could be available at a significantly reduced fee.
The French international joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023 for £52 million ($70m), but his time at Stamford Bridge has been hampered by injuries and inconsistent form. He has made just nine Premier League starts this season and scored only 17 goals in 56 appearances across all competitions—six of those coming in the league.
Despite his struggles in England, Nkunku was prolific at Leipzig, netting 58 goals over two seasons before his big-money switch to the Premier League.
With Arsenal keen to bolster their attacking options, Mikel Arteta reportedly views Nkunku as a strong tactical fit for his system at the Emirates. According to TEAMtalk, the Gunners are closely monitoring his situation and could make a move if the price is right.
Nkunku is thought to be available for around £40 million ($54m), attracting interest from several Bundesliga clubs and Barcelona, who also see potential value in the deal.
Alongside their interest in Nkunku, Arsenal are also exploring moves for Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško, and remain admirers of Newcastle star Alexander Isak.
