The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has officially inaugurated the executive committee of the party’s France Chapter, urging Nigerians in the diaspora to continue backing President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Paris over the weekend, brought together APC stakeholders from across the diaspora. Speaking at the event, Ganduje emphasized the vital role of diaspora members in strengthening the party’s global reach and supporting national development.
He noted that although some of President Tinubu’s reforms may be challenging in the short term, they are essential for repositioning Nigeria’s economy for long-term growth and stability.
“These reforms are not easy, but they are necessary. Already, we’re seeing increased funding for capital development, and both governors and local government leaders can testify to that progress,” Ganduje said.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje praised the efforts of diaspora APC chapters in mobilizing support and expanding the party’s footprint abroad. He also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to working with the National Assembly to achieve diaspora voting rights.
“We recognize your contributions and your desire to be fully involved in the democratic process. We are working to make diaspora voting a reality,” he assured attendees.
He further highlighted the APC’s growing internal stability and recent political gains ahead of the 2027 elections, including defections from rival parties.
“There is peace in the APC. Unlike others dealing with internal crises, we have unity and structure. That’s why leaders from various parties, including senators and assembly members, are joining us,” Ganduje stated.
Newly inaugurated Chairlady of the APC France Chapter, Hajjiya Amina Musa Baba Suzuki, echoed the importance of diaspora engagement—not only as economic drivers but also as political influencers.
“Nigerians in the diaspora are more than remittance senders; we are proud ambassadors of our democracy and advocates for national progress,” she said.
She called on the party leadership to accelerate efforts toward diaspora voting, describing it as both achievable and overdue.
“Under your leadership, we believe this long-standing dream can become a reality. Where there is political will, there is always a way,” she added.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were Professor Hafsat Ganduje, wife of the APC National Chairman; APC National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile; Chairman of all APC Chairmen in Europe, Hon. Tunde Doherty; and HRM Oba Aderounmu Bamidele Sadiq, the Yoruba monarch in France.
