Nollywood actress and model Beverly Osu recently got candid about her romantic preferences, revealing that she’s always been attracted to older men.
Speaking on the WithChude podcast with Chude Jideonwo, Beverly shared, “I have always dated guys much older than me. Do I have daddy issues? I wouldn’t call it that. I think I’ve outgrown whatever that was.”
She went on to explain that her attraction to older men isn’t rooted in trauma, but rather the strong, confident male figures she’s known throughout her life.
“I’m surrounded by boys, and all the men in my life are confident. To be with me, you need that same level of confidence especially to handle my brothers, who carry themselves with pride,” she said.
Addressing her much-talked-about relationship with fellow Big Brother Africa housemate Angelo, Beverly admitted it was real love. “I was madly in love with Angelo. I got too comfortable, and that led to all the rumours,” she confessed.
However, she firmly dismissed any claims of inappropriate behavior on the show. “People love me for who I am. And honestly, I didn’t do anything wrong. I was just 20. I took more from that experience than just the relationship with Angelo.”
Reflecting on love’s complexities, Beverly concluded, “Every problem I’ve had in life came from the greatest gift God gave us love. I was in love with him. That’s why I was so free. I was dating him, so what? Should we have tied the knot? I was in love.”
