Real Madrid mieldfieder, Jude Bellingham is facing the threat of another ban, with England international star angrily kicking a VAR monitor following defeat to Valencia.

Real Madrid suffered a serious setback in defending their La Liga title as Valencia defeat them 2-1 at Santiago Bernabeu. They are now four points behind the Clasico rivals Barcelona with eight games left to take in this season.

Bellingham needed some way of displaying his anger when heading for the dressing room, and a pitch-side screen caught his eye. When passing the monitor, which is used for VAR reviews, the 21-year-old midfielder lashed out.

The one saving grace for Bellingham may be that the equipment in question did not topple over and break. La Liga rules do, however, dictate that players can be punished for “acts of aggression against equipment”. If they are found to have intentionally damaged league property, then suspensions of between one and three matches can be handed out, along with fines and formal warnings.

Bellingham will be desperate to avoid another spell on the sidelines having just recently served a ban for scolding a referee and told him to “f*ck off”. The England international has a key role to play in his team biding for domestic and Champions League glory
