Victor Osimhen continued his prolific form by netting his 30th goal of the season, helping Galatasaray ease past Konyaspor with a 5-1 victory in the Turkish Cup semi-finals on Tuesday.

The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the 26th minute, rising to meet a pinpoint cross from former Napoli teammate Dries Mertens and heading home to give Galatasaray an early lead.

Osimhen’s latest goal underlines his remarkable impact this season, with 30 goals and six assists across all competitions for the Istanbul giants.

Midfielder Lucas Torreira doubled the advantage just before the break, putting Galatasaray firmly in control at the Konya Buyuksehir Arena.

In the second half, Hungarian forward Robert Sallai struck twice, either side of a consolation goal by Konyaspor’s Pedrinho. Yusuf Demir rounded off the scoring in stoppage time, coming off the bench to make it 5-1 after replacing Osimhen in the 73rd minute.

Osimhen was also instrumental in Galatasaray’s quarter-final triumph, scoring both goals in their 2-1 win over rivals Fenerbahce earlier this month.

Despite finishing behind Konyaspor in the group stage of the tournament, Galatasaray stepped up when it mattered in the knockout rounds. They are now on course for a domestic double, sitting five points clear at the top of the Super Lig with six matches remaining.

During his loan spell from Napoli, Osimhen has tallied 21 goals in the league, six in the Europa League, and three in the Turkish Cup. While he is expected to depart this summer, the 25-year-old has made it clear he wants to help Galatasaray finish the season with both the league title and the Turkish Cup.
