Hon. Lanre Oladebo, the lawmaker representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has said that there are no competent opposition members that would compete with the Peoples Democratic Party’s Governor Ademola Adeleke and win in 2026 governorship elections.
Oladebo stated this while featuring on a Programme on Insight Links TV on Monday.
The federal lawmaker said he hasn’t seen anyone in the opposition All Progressives Congress who is competent enough to compete against the Governor Adeleke.
He said, “I’m not sure there’s any opposition who is competent enough to compete against Governor Ademola Adeleke, they don’t have the capacity to even win the election. Even if there is,which I believe there’s none, there is no vacancy in the Oke-Fia Government House.
“Adeleke has done so well in terms of governance and also infrastructure and other social services. Imagine over 12 years of the opposition in power, no single road was constructed in Isokan Local Government.”
Speaking of what to expect in Osun West, the lawmaker said, “The achievements we have recorded in about two years in our district are overwhelming. What Senator Lere Oyewunmi, myself and others have done are massive and the people have seen the difference. The opposition didn’t do a single road in Isokan. The people have seen what we have done. I haven’t seen any opposition that can win Isokan Local Government. We aren’t losing sleep over that”, he explained further.
InsightMedia recalled that PDP leaders in Osun West gathered in Ikire last Wednesday to endorse Governor Adeleke for second term.
Speaking of the event, Oladebo said the Party leaders have no issue with wherever the APC picks its candidate from, stating that “Adeleke is with the people. Very accessible and listening to people.”
He also spoke on his achievements in the last 22 months as a lawmaker, stating that he has done what no one has ever done in the three local government areas under his watch.
