…As he hosts Easter celebration
It was a moment of worship and praise at the Palace of Olojudo of Ido-Osun, Oba Olayinka Ishola Jokotola II as Christian faithful gathered to celebrate the Easter period in a fanfare and glamorous manner.
The event, organized by the Olojudo in pursuance of his commitment to religious tolerance, was attended by Christians from different denominations across the town and beyond.
Addressing the crowd, Oba Jokotola II assured them that his reign will not only bring about progress for the communities, but also deliver successes and fortunes to both indigenes and residents of the ancient community.
The monarch described the gathering as an avenue to praise the Most High God in replication of a similar event held during the holy month of Ramadan.
“I welcome everyone to this 2025 Easter celebration at the Palace of Alayemore of Ido-Osun. I thank everyone that honours our invitation. I pray that God Almighty continue to be with us.
“Let me assure my people that by this time next year, we’ll have greater reason to glorify Almighty God because we’ll have a lot of achievements to showcase within the year. Let’s continue to live harmoniously among ourselves.”
The monarch emphasized on unity and love as exemplified by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In his sermon, Prophet Timothy Olusegun Akinade also called on the Christians to show love as Jesus died for love for humanity.
“One of the assignments that Jesus was sent to this world to do is to love everyone as contained in the John 3:6. The major assignment of Christ is to love everyone. Likewise all the followers of Jesus must love each other as that will prevent us from doing any evil against each other.”
The priest admonished for continuous support to the throne of the monarch.
Special prayers were offered for Ido-Osun, Osun State and Nigeria as different choir groups took to the stage for musical ministration. The performance that electrified the atmosphere and brought participants closer to that Creator.
