Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially launched an online registration portal and identity cards for members of his Obidient Movement, both in Nigeria and across the diaspora.

The announcement was made in a joint statement issued from Abuja by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, and Nana Kazaure, its Director of Strategic Communications and Media.

According to the statement, the identity cards will feature a QR code for authentication, positioned at the bottom right-hand corner. The cards will also display the flag of the country where the cardholder resides.

The statement explained, “The Obidient registration portal caters to Nigerians and fellow Obidients living abroad. The ID cards will carry the flag of the country of residence in the top right-hand corner for diaspora members. This demonstrates the spirit of diversity, camaraderie, and unity that defines the Obidient Movement and showcases its global reach.”

It continued, “The ID cards will all begin with the OBX prefix, whether for Nigerian or Diaspora members, ensuring uniformity. The QR code on the card can be scanned using any QR scanner, such as a smartphone, allowing Obidients to securely and confidently interact with one another.”

The statement further highlighted the security features, noting that individuals can verify an Obidient’s identity by scanning the QR code or checking the OBX ID online. This system ensures that members can trust the authenticity of their interactions, whether they choose to support or engage in business with other Obidients.
