Nigerian music star Peter Okoye of the legendary duo P-Square has opened up about enduring over two decades of betrayal and manipulation by family members.

This comes after he testified against his brother, Jude Okoye, in a high-profile money laundering case.

In a recent Instagram post, Peter emphasized the importance of prioritizing his mental health, stating, “Don’t let ‘family’ be the reason you’re drowning in silence… Real family doesn’t manipulate, loyalty doesn’t betray, and family doesn’t steal from you.” He added that any family that steals, discriminates, or ignores one’s pain isn’t family at all.

The court case involves Jude Okoye, who is accused of diverting royalties belonging to P-Square. Peter testified that Jude secretly registered a new company in his wife’s name to collect the royalties, without informing him or his twin brother, Paul.

The feud between the Okoye brothers reportedly dates back to 2015, with tensions escalating over the years. The case has sparked a family divide, with Paul publicly defending Jude and accusing Peter of masterminding the legal troubles.

The court has adjourned the case to June 4 for cross-examination. Peter’s testimony has brought attention to the importance of family dynamics and the need to prioritize one’s well-being in the face of betrayal and manipulation.
