Controversial street-pop star Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, has now set his sights on heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua after beating Speed Darlington in a celebrity boxing match.
“Now that I’ve beaten Speed Darlington, it’s Anthony Joshua I want next,” Portable.
The “Zazuu” crooner claimed victory at the “Chaos in the Ring” event held April 18 at Balmoral Convention Centre, Lagos. The fight ended in the second round when Speed Darlington suffered a dislocated shoulder and couldn’t continue.
Portable also revealed that Grammy winner Burna Boy gifted him N20 million following the bout. He’s now pushing for a collaboration, citing Burna’s long-running feud with Speed Darlington as motivation.
Speed Darlington, however, isn’t accepting defeat quietly. He’s calling for a rematch, accusing Portable of cheating and using supernatural powers. “It’s unfair. He’s had two fights. I’ve never entered a ring before,” he said in an Instagram rant.
He also suggested tribal favoritism played a role. Portable clapped back sarcastically: “Yes, I used juju. Go get yours.”
This isn’t Portable’s first call-out of Joshua. Earlier in April, he challenged the former heavyweight champ to a N100 million fight, dismissing Speed as an unserious opponent.
With this latest win, Portable now holds two celebrity boxing victories, including his 2023 win over actor Charles Okocha.
