Nigerian entertainer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, is demanding a rematch after suffering a knockout loss to fellow musician Portable (real name Badmus Okikiola) in a celebrity boxing match at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.
The event, aptly titled Chaos in the Ring, ended in the second round when Portable secured a swift and decisive win.
The clash followed a simmering feud between the two, intensified by a reported incident in which Speed Darlington offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform a sum Portable allegedly deemed insulting.
In a video shared after the match, Speed Darlington expressed his frustration, claiming Portable didn’t deserve the prize money and arguing that it could have been better spent on community development in his hometown.
“Portable, I want a rematch,” he declared. “It hurts to see you walk away with that money it breaks my heart. You’ve had more ring experience than me. I’ve never even entered one before. I wanted to build a swimming pool for my village in Imo State. That money could’ve done a lot.”
He also doubled down on previous allegations that Portable used voodoo to gain an unfair edge in the ring. Despite the early knockout, Speed Darlington insisted he wasn’t exhausted but suffered a shoulder dislocation during the fight.
Now, he’s calling for a rematch with at least 30 days to train properly promising that a different outcome awaits if given a fair shot.
