Tomiwa Edun, British-Nigerian actor and son of Nigeria’s Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has married British actress Leanne Elizabeth Best in a low-key yet elegant ceremony in Lagos.

Best known for his role as Sir Elyan in the hit series Merlin, the 41-year-old actor who has appeared in several Hollywood films and voiced characters in FIFA video games temporarily stepped away from the spotlight to celebrate his union with Best.

The event, described as modest in line with the Edun family’s values and the current economic climate, was nonetheless graced by some of Nigeria’s most influential figures.

Notable guests included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Minister Atiku Bagudu and his wife, Senator Sani Musa, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo longtime friend of the Eduns Aliko Dangote of the Dangote Group, and Heirs Holdings Chairman Tony Elumelu.

Members of the Federal Executive Council, industry leaders, diplomats, Nollywood personalities, and UK-based actors were also present, highlighting Tomiwa’s cultural ties and international acclaim.

Born in Lagos in 1984 and raised in the UK, Tomiwa has built a distinguished career in global film and television. His bride, Leanne Best, is also an established figure in the arts, making their union both a personal milestone and a cultural celebration.

While the wedding mirrored the Edun family’s humility, it also reflected their ability to quietly bring together some of the nation’s top figures.

The couple is expected to host a smaller, more informal celebration in the UK for friends and colleagues from the entertainment world.

Despite the high-profile guest list, Minister Edun reportedly remained firm in his request for a simple affair, underlining a preference for grace over grandeur.
